Blasting abrasive
All the blasting agents in our product range are free of silicogenic, carcinogenic and toxic constituents and comply with TRGA 503 Technical Rules for Hazardous Substances for blasting media (Technische Regeln für Gefahrstoffe – TRGA).
Metallic shot
This is available in angular or spherical shapes. It is made of a wide variety of materials, such as pig iron, chilled cast iron, cast steel, non-ferrous metals, etc., and comes in a variety of sizes with different degrees of hardness.
CHILLED CAST IRON / CAST STEEL / MICRON NF / INOX CHROME-NICKEL
Glass beads
These consist of approx. 71 % silicon but the silicon dioxide is chemically bonded. The specific weight is 2.48 and the hardness is 5.5-6 on the Mohs scale. Ceramic balls are used as an alternative to blasting beads if a longer service life of the shot is desired.
GLASS BEADS / GLASS POWDER / CERAMIC BALLS
Corundum
Blasting corundum or abrasive consists of 81 or 95-99 % aluminium oxide. The Si02 content is chemically bonded. The hardness is close to 10 on the Mohs scale. As an abrasive medium, it has a long service life. For gentle blasting action we stock white fused alumina.
NORMAL CORUNDUM (ABRASIVE) / WHITE FUSED ALUMINA
